With that said, it does require quite a bit of maintenance compared to non-painted brick. You’ll have to powerwash it every now and then, especially if it’s white.

The big pro of limewashing a house is that it penetrates the brick, so unlike paint, it won’t peel off over time as quickly. That’s less maintenance for you. Plus, it creates a beautiful, worn, and vintage look that ages naturally.

The major downside (which is subjective) is that the natural brick color will show through a bit. If your house has cheap bricks, they’ll be noticeable.
